Automation rules
“duplicative or substantially similar”
No duplicate or near duplicate posts on one account or across accounts you operate. Accounts with different purposes are fine.
Read the policy : Automation rulesPaste two X posts to see how similar they are. Shared phrases light up, a gauge scores the overlap out of 100, and tips show how to make each post stand on its own.
Highlighted words appear in the other draft too.

How to diverge
Three published policies cover this. In plain words, as of September 2026:
“duplicative or substantially similar”
No duplicate or near duplicate posts on one account or across accounts you operate. Accounts with different purposes are fine.
Read the policy : Automation rules“copypasta”
X limits the visibility of identical or near identical posts. Reposts, and quotes with your own commentary, are not limited.
Read the policy : Copypasta and duplicate content policyRunning several accounts that post the same content, or inflating how prominent a post looks, counts as manipulation.
Read the policy : AuthenticityIn practice: several accounts can cover the same launch, but each needs its own words and its own reason to exist. This checker cannot predict what X will do; it shows where your drafts overlap.
Lower case, punctuation dropped.
Every run of three words is one phrase.
Phrases that appear in both drafts.
Shared ÷ all distinct phrases × 100.
Draft A
“Our new pricing page is live today”
Draft B
“Our new pricing page went live this morning”
Only "our new pricing page" is shared, so the drafts land in the related band: the same news in their own words.
Distinct 0 to 19
These read as different posts.
Related 20 to 39
Same topic, own wording. Usually fine.
Too close 40 to 59
Large parts are the same. Rewrite before posting both.
Near duplicate 60+
Essentially the same post. Do not post both.
Replace draft A with your first post, and rename its label if you like.
Replace draft B with the post for another account or a later date.

Rewrite the shared phrases until the score reaches Distinct or Related.
Planning a campaign across several accounts? Add a third draft and the checker scores every pair.
Rewording is the weakest fix. Start from one brief with the facts, then give each account a reason to speak. The words come out different on their own.
Shared brief, identical everywhere

Kairo Post runs this check in campaigns: each account drafts its own angle from one brief, and drafts that come out too close are held for a rewrite. More checks live on the tools page.
