Table A
Every X image size in one table
Only the header and profile photo have pixel sizes from X. Post images get a range of shapes, so any size inside it is correct.
| Image | Pixels | Shape | How it is shown | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Header | 1500 × 500 | 3:1 | Across the top of your profile; edges may crop | help.x.com |
| Profile photo | 400 × 400 | 1:1 | As a circle, over the header and next to posts | help.x.com |
| Single post image | e.g. 1600 × 900 | 2:1 to 3:4 | In full inside this range | help.x.com |
| Several post images | e.g. 1080 × 1080 | Any | Up to four, as a grid of previews | help.x.com |
Example pixel sizes for posts are common choices, not numbers X requires.
Detail B
The X header safe zone, explained
X's help page on headers says 60 pixels at the top and bottom could be cropped, depending on screen and browser.
- A
Crop bands
60 px top and bottom. Background only.
- B
Safe band
1500 × 380 px, always visible. Names, taglines, logos.
- C
Profile photo corner
Lower left, position varies by screen. Treat it as covered.
Worked example: a tagline
180 px from top
30 px: may be cut
Detail C
X post image sizes: single and multiple
One image
Between 2:1 and 3:4 it shows in full, per X's help on pictures. Outside that range, expect a crop.
Two to four images
They share a grid of previews that may show only part of each. Keep subjects central and text off the edges.
See your own layout on a phone and desktop with the X post preview tool.

Diagnosis
Why images look blurry on X, and how to avoid it
Blur is almost always decided before you upload. Match the symptom, then apply the fix.
Soft all over
The original is smaller than the target, so it is enlarged.
Start from an original at least as large. The cropper warns you.
Fuzzy edges around text
Text and flat graphics saved as JPEG.
Save cards, screenshots and logos as PNG.
Blocky colour steps
Heavy compression or repeated saving.
Export once from the original, at the final size.
Sharp on desktop, soft on a phone
Thin lines vanish when a large image is shown small.
Use bolder shapes and larger text.
Stop resizing by hand for every post
Kairo Post prepares images for X as they enter your media library, then waits for your approval. The credit price shows before anything runs.
